International Student Services: Request Your I-20

Request Your I-20

The I-20 Certificate of Eligibility is a document you will need to apply for your F-1 student visa. The certificate includes details about you, McNeese, your education level and major, and your financial information. Please use the steps below to request your I-20.

Please note: An initial or transfer I-20 can be issued only to students who have been admitted to McNeese State University. If you have not yet applied, please visit the International Admissions page to start your application.

For First-Time Students

If you are a first-time college student, once admitted, email the following information to intinfo@mcneese.edu to receive your I-20:

  • Your full name and McNeese ID number

  • Your sponsor’s bank statement or a bank letter dated within the past six months

  • A copy of your passport

Important Note: Please note that receiving the I-20 may take several weeks, since we are processing I-20s for many students at a time. If you already have a visa interview scheduled, please provide the date of your visa interview in your initial email so that we can have your I-20 ready before the interview date.

For Transfer Students

If you are transferring from another US college or university, please ask your current school to transfer your SEVIS record to McNeese.

  • You must have your SEVIS record transferred to us (school code: NOL214F00101000) before you can register for classes.

  • Communicate your intent to transfer to your previous school’s international advisor and provide them with a copy of your McNeese Acceptance Letter.

  • Clarify your SEVIS release date with the international advisor; we cannot issue your McNeese I-20 until the release date set by your previous school.

If you have any questions about your transfer I-20, please contact intinfo@mcneese.edu
