General Form

MLA Handbook 8th ed. (p. 21):

Author. "Article Title." Journal Title, vol. number, issue number,

     Date, pp. inclusive pages.

Examples

  • Nno longer distinguishes format between scholarly and non-scholarly.
  • No longer records when you viewed an item online.
  • No longer records what database you viewed an item.
  • Requires URLs or DOIs.  There is discussion about truncating long URLs (EBSCOhost products).  However, as of September 2017 nothing formal has been decided by MLA.
