Bluefire Reader brings free public-library e-books to iOS
"many
libraries have started offering e-books that you can check out for a
few weeks, just like the real thing. Unfortunately, despite the plethora
of e-book readers in the App Store, you couldn't read these
DRM-protected library titles on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad. Now you can.
Bluefire Reader now supports not only ePub and PDF formats, but also
the Adobe DRM used by most libraries." Read more.
Note: You will also need Adobe Digital Editions.
You can view EBECO eBooks on your mobile device the same as articles using EBSCO's mobile app. You can checkout and download directly to your computer, but to get on your mobile device you will have to download to your computer first, then transfer to your mobile device. You'll also need a My EBSCOhost account and to set up Adobe Digital Editions.
Compatible mobile devices include nook, Sony Digital Readers (PRS-300, 505, 600, 700 and 900), COOL-ER and many smart phones. Here is the complete list.
Note: Do not disconnect the device while you are in the process of transferring a title to the device.
1. Go to Amazon's website and install the latest version of the "Send to Kindle" application, for Windows or Mac. http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/
2. In EBSCO, while viewing the full-text eBook in your browser, click the "Print" icon. You will be presented with the option to print a PDF. (Note: EBSCO eBooks can only print 60 pages at a time, so determine which sections of the book or article are relevant before printing.) Click "Print PDF".
3. Save the PDF. The default filename is "ebscohost", so you may wish to save the file as something more descriptive, such as the author's last name, followed by the title.
4. In Windows, using Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where you saved the previous file. Right-click on the file and choose the option "Send to Kindle".
5. You will be presented with options to rename the file, and if you have more than one Kindle, the option to select which Kindle to upload the file.
