The Carolina Reaper Pepper is currently the Hottest pepper on the planet. Measured by Scoville Heat Units (SHU), itself a form of measuring capsaicin, the Guiness Book of Records awarded the title in 2013 to the Carlina Reaper, a hybrid of ghost and habonero peppers.
