- Nno longer distinguishes format between scholarly and non-scholarly.
- No longer records when you viewed an item online.
- No longer records what database you viewed an item.
- Requires URLs or DOIs. There is discussion about truncating long URLs (EBSCOhost products). However, as of September 2017 nothing formal has been decided by MLA.
