What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the use of another's ideas, research, or words without crediting the source. Information that is common knowledge does not have to cited. Sometimes the line between what should be cited is hard to distinguish. For a brief tutorial on when to cite information and how to avoid plagiarism, view Prentice Hall's Understanding Plagiarism.
